Don’t be fooled by its name, Adobe Photo Uploader does not only “upload photos”. It also shows your Facebook News Feed, allows Facebook Chat, notify you of new events, messages, friend request, and pokes. It IS a Facebook application for desktop!
Great for those Facebook addicted.
Wait! I don’t see Adobe Photo Uploader support Facebook Notifications, which notifies me of new comments made by my friends?! And, the font size is too small… (at least on my 24″ monitor)
Before this, whenever my friend asked me for an easy way to upload photos to Facebook, I would recommend Picasa + Picasa Uploader for Facebook. Both are free downloads.
However, download a software, install it and then install a plugin.. the process could be a nightmare for a non-techie guy.
Now, I will recommend them the Adobe Photo Uploader for Facebook. It is easy & fast!
However, I only use it as photo uploader and not a Facebook app for desktop. It can’t replace the Facebook web interface, yet. And, I do not need to frequently check my Facebook news feed.
I am using something simpler, the Facebook Desktop Notification (Mac only).

This download manager brings much more to the table than fast file transfers, but it definitely delivers those, too. Increased download speeds are Download Accelerator Plus’s bread and butter, speeding up downloads by almost 200 percent in most cases and occasionally as high as 400 percent.

DAP rolls in a media buffer, too, that allegedly will prevent streaming-video hiccups. Ensuring that you’re running the latest version of the Adobe Flash player won’t hurt, either.
Two new features include a UI change that lets users choose a Firefox- or Internet Explorer-styled download window, and integration with DAP’s publisher’s video converter. Downloading and converting video on the fly is a pretty smart way to keep the program fresh. The program will prompt you at your first attempt if you don’t have the converter installed and guide you through its installation. Frustratingly, the install process will weigh you down with a ton of toolbars, default switches, and e-mail recommendations that you must opt out of for a clean installation.
Although it’s heavy with ads and promotions, DAP is still a good choice for adding some heat to your typical download recipe.

Note: Please don't tell me this doesn't work if you have a static IP, for those that does have dynamic IP address, enjoy! Just use the program when you're done downloading with the first download!
